The country wants to acquire a 2-percent stake in the TAL pipeline through which oil flows from the Italian port Trieste to the Ingolstadt pipeline and then to Czech refineries.In such a way the Czech Republic would be able to increase oil supplies from western Europe and lower its dependence on the Druzhba oil pipeline and Russia, E15 writes.According to Pojar, Czech diplomacy seeks to gain U.S. support also for the negotiation with the German government on the construction of the Gazela pipeline that is to connect the Czech Republic up with the Russian-German oil pipeline in the Baltic Sea.According to E15, the Czech Republic continues its efforts to increase its independence from the supplies of Russian oils by the Druzhba pipeline.If the country succeeds in buying a stake in the TAL pipeline and gains access to better prices for the transfer of oil from Trieste it could not be ruled out that oil would flow in the opposite direction by Druzhba, E15 writes.The Czech Republic would be able to supply other countries such as Slovakia or Hungary with oil through the IKL pipeline that runs from Ingolstadt and connects up to TAL, the daily concludes.
