US Vice President Dick Cheney meets with Ukraine's leaders on Friday to discuss NATO and energy issues.
The visit comes amid a domestic power struggle that could see the pro-Western President Viktor Yushchenko call snap elections before November if it's not resolved. Ukraine is Cheney's final stop of a three-day tour of the region aimed to shore up support for US allies following last month's military conflict between Georgia and Russia. On Thursday, Cheney met with Georgia's President Mikhail Saakashvili in Tblisi, where he stressed the need to resolve the status of Georgia's two separatist regions.
