Defence Ministry had rejected an offer by the BAE Systems for quick supply of much cheaper RG-31 vehicles with a higher ballistic protection.According to Euro.cz, even the fact that the vehicles will be supplied in a large series will not lower the excessively high price of the new vehicles.
This was one of the arguments by which the Defence Ministry defended the price of the first four Dingo 2 and Iveco MLV vehicles.It paid about 135 million crowns for Dingos and 119 million crowns for Ivecos."If the ministry bought the so far not well-established RG-31 vehicles the time-demanding process of control and military tests would have to follow and then the controls would have to be checked, the vehicles would have to be introduced in the weapons, and the logistics base would have to be established.
